Age: Edo period.
Remarks: A beautiful all matched original suit.
Historical: The suit features a version of the Meyui crest. This specific version was used by the Kutsuki and Morikawa clans. Matching crests are featured on the kabuto, sashimono and sai hai.
Kabuto: A
16 Ken Kuro Urushi Nuri Suji Kabuto with a black lacquer finish. Fukurin trim caps the fukigaeshi on both sides and the visor. A blue and orange laced hon kozane shikoro is fitted to the Kabuto perfectly. It is attached by four groups of mixed metal byo that are gilded and engraved. The fukigaeshi have matching meyui crests. Both the fukigaeshi and visor are finished in matching egawa.
Men-Yoroi: A well crafted ressei style menpo signed by
Myochin Munehisa under the chin . Odome posts set into both sides of the menpo. Original lacquer finish is in very good condition. The yodare-kake is wide finished in blue, green and orange lacing to match the shikoro of the Kabuto.
Dou: A beautiful hon kozane dou with matching wakibiki "arm pit guard" and original koshi ate "sword carrier"
Accessory: A wonderful umbrella sashimono inscribed with the name of the Samurai who owned this suit...KASHIN TATEBE.
Sangu: An excellent matched sangu set which are original and unaltered. All items in excellent condition for their age.
