Age: Late Muromachi Period (1487-1573)

Provenance: The Shogun Art Collection

Remarks: Signed Myochin Yoshimasa. This Kabuto has beautiful silver inlay on each plate. Yoshimasa worked during the late 1500's and it is known that his work resembles Myochin Yoshimichi who was only one of 3 smiths graded Sai Jo I the very highest grade a smith was ever awarded. Yoshimasa may have been a student of Yoshimichi but the Myochin records are inconclusive.
