Item #: 637

Age: Edo Period.

Remarks: Bearing a likeness to the "resseiho" fierce face type of Menpo this Somen exhibits boldly indented wrinkles which contrast nicely with the smoothly forged features. This is a considerable achievement the Myochin smith were known for.

This was purchased from a private collection in Japan and would make a wonderful addition to any armor collection.

Published in the famous Japanese book of Mengu including Hanbo, Me No Shita Men and Somen Masks called "Katchu Men".
