History: This suit features a crest of the Sugaya Clan. One of the most famous Samurai of that family name was Sugaya Nagayori, 1555-1582. Oda Nobunaga hired him as a personal valet when he was a kid, then he grew up to be an administrative officer and retainer for the Oda Clan. Sugaya happened to be with Oda Nobutada in his last journey to Kyoto in June 1582 -- so Sugaya, like the band of body guards that Nobutada took with him, died fighting against Akechi soldiers at Nijo Palace.
