Tetsu Kuro Urushi Nuri 62 Ken Suji Kabuto Ni-Mai Do.


Late Muromachi-Momoyama period. (16th century)


The Kabuto is signed by Myochin Katsuyoshi. There are two family crests on this suit. The suit belonged to an adopted son of a Hachisuka Clan Daimyo.

Hachisuka family crest is called Hachisuka Manji. The Buddhist Manji (swastika) that represents Dharma, universal harmony, and the balance of opposites.
