Gold Zunari Samurai Kabuto
Momoyama period (early 17th century) Constructed of five iron plates riveted together in overlapping fashion with bold standing rivets (zaboshi) and hammered with prominent eyebrows on the mabisashi, the bowl lacquered entirely in gold and fitted with a five-lame Hineno-style shikoro, the small fukigaeshi applied with a gilt-copper plantain crest of the Mizuno family and trimmed with "rope" fukurin, the top of the bowl pierced with a simple tehen plugged with a shakudo cap.
