Tetsu Kuro Urushi Nuri 62 Ken Suji Kabuto - Signed Haruta Katsusada.
A 62 plate suji kabuto in black lacquer. With rare matching crest on the fukigaeshi and maedate with inscription on both sides. Unusual reverse scallop shape mabizashi [peak] with gilt copper six-stage then-no-kanamono. This kabuto was featured in the ‘100 Famous Kabuto Exhibition’ showcasing some of the finest Japanese helmets in the country at Okayama Prefectural Museum in April 1990 and included in the accompanying museum catalogue. A generous sweeping five-lame hineno-jikoro [close-fitting neck-guard] of kiritsuke-kozane [imitation lamellae] is finished in ken [navy] kebiki-odoshi [close-spaced lacing]. Liner and chin cords intact.
