Rare Early Edo Period Kawari style Samurai Kabuto. In excellent condition. It comes with a certificate from the NKBKHK, Tokubetsu Hozon.
It represents, in a stylized way, a scroll coming down, most religious writings having been kept that way. There are NO cracks or chips. The shikoro is lacquered with silver urushi (rare & difficult to do) and that is also in v..g. condition. Lastly, look at the “byo”, or pins holding the shikoro. Made of silver and unusually shaped. This piece will make a fantastic edition to any collection. Send us a message at [email protected]
